One punch created a scary scene at UFC 296, as Josh Emmett opened the main card with a horrifying knockout of Bryce Mitchell.
The UFC was hoping to close out 2023 with a bang through UFC 296 — its last card of the year. And after an entertaining preliminary card, Josh Emmett delivered that and then some — causing quite the concern for opponent Bryce Mitchell.
Just under two minutes into the first round, Emmett landed a powerful right hand that put Mitchell out cold.
The immediate aftermath was a gruesome sight, as Mitchell — who took this fight on short notice — could be seen shaking while unconscious on the ground. Mitchell was able to return to his feet with the help of doctors and officials, but he could still be seen on wobbly legs while leaving the Octagon.
