Sacramento, stand up.
One fight before Urijah Faber came out of retirement at UFC Fight Night Sacramento, fellow Team Alpha Male fighter Josh Emmett (15-2-0) entered the octagon for his featherweight match against Mirsad Bektic (13-2-0). Emmett earned a rousing ovation from the home crowd at Golden 1 Center and instantly proved he deserved their admiration.
The 34-year-old who wrestled locally at Menlo College, knocked Bektic out in the final minute of the first round.
Emmett caught Bektic with a right jab that knocked him to straight to the mat. And then, the veteran landed a flurry of punches on the ground to quickly end the match.
"The California Kid" was loving every second of his teammate's victory, too.
It was a great night for Team Alpha Male. Faber's win was icing on the cake.
